For the smaller dash, smaller passenger compartment typical of 1920’s through 1940’s based Street Rods, the Street Rod Cooler II is generally the right choice. For the larger dash, larger passenger compartment typical of 1960’s and later based Street Rods, the Street Rod Cooler Deluxe is generally the right choice.
Do I want Cable or Electric Controls?
It depends on your sense of style.
If you want a more traditional look, go with the Cable version.
If you want a more modern, Resto-Mod
type look, go with Electric or upgrade your Cable controls.
Cable is less expensive and is preferred by those who are more comfortable with mechanical controls.
Electric is also easier to install since it is plug and go whereas the cables need to be adjusted to your application.
On the cable version, the highest quality OEM control cables are utilized. A stainless wire glides through nylon lined housings that are pre-lubricated.
Inline adjusters are used to make periodic adjustments of cables in a fraction of the time.
On the Electric version, servo motors move the diverter doors.
CLASSIC AUTO AIR was the first of the retrofit air conditioning companies to introduce servo motor drive technology.
