Large, Separate Coils [more]

Size matters and ours are bigger! Larger AC coils provide more cooling power than small ones. This system contains AC coils big enough to cool the full passenger compartment of your 1962 Pontiac Grand Prix. In addition, it contains a large, separate heat coil, just like factory original systems, not the combined AC/Heat coils often found on an aftermarket system. Why AC Coil Size Matters?

Car air conditioning is nothing more than continuous heat transfer by two heat exchangers. One heat exchanger, the Evaporator, absorbs heat from the passenger compartment. The other heat exchanger, the Condenser, dissipates that heat into the outside air. All other things being equal, size matters. A larger Evaporator and a larger Condenser exchange more heat than smaller ones and allow the air conditioning system to cool better.

This is a complete climate control system with powerful air conditioning, heat on the floor and dehumidified defrost.

Size

Size matters. Larger AC coils provide more cooling power than small ones. At 24 5/8" L x 10" H x 8 3/4" D, this Evaporator Unit contains AC coils big enough to cool the large passenger compartment in the 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix. In addition, it contains a large, separate heat coil, just like factory original systems, not the combined AC/Heat coils often found on an aftermarket system.
