Potential customers frequently challenge us to explain why Classic Auto Air A/C systems are superior to Vintage Air AC systems. The basic answer is: it’s the coil size.
The larger the coils, the greater the cooling power. Our Perfect Fit model-specific air conditioning systems have larger coils than aftermarket or Vintage Air A/C systems. Our coils are designed to be large enough to cool the entire passenger compartment, even when filled with the maximum number of passengers.
A short explanation of automobile air conditioning helps to illustrate the advantage. Air conditioning is continuous heat transfer by two heat exchangers. One heat exchanger, the evaporator, absorbs heat from the passenger compartment. The other heat exchanger, the condenser, dissipates that heat into the outside air. A larger evaporator and a larger condenser exchange more heat than smaller ones and allow the air conditioning system to cool more efficiently.
We make our systems even more effective by using a large, separate heat coil, like the factory-original A/C systems. Aftermarket A/C systems frequently combine the A/C and heat coils, which is cheaper to manufacture but also less effective.
