A question we are often asked is, “Should I Replace the Filter-Drier Whenever I Open the AC System?” The answer: Yes!
Every time you open the air conditioning system you must replace the filter-drier or accumulator. It contains moisture absorbing desiccant that when exposed to the environment will absorb moisture from the air and saturate the desiccant bag rendering the filter-drier unusable.
If not changed, this moisture, combined with refrigerant and system lubricant will turn acidic and cause premature system failure.
We carry many replacement filter-driers or we can rebuild your original.
