69 Camaro: It’s a Classic and Now We Own One

September 19th, 2011

69 CamaroClassic Auto Air is doing it again – taking a well-loved classic vehicle and making it so much better.   This time we’re taking on one of the most beloved of classics… the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Our black beauty is a pristine, very road worthy base model destined to receive a whole parcel of upgrades… and the very best in cooling technology we offer.

There’s nothing like doing what we love… on a car we all love a lot. This black beauty was acquired as the latest in our “new technology” test cars… but it’s also destined to stick around for many years and become our ambassador of “cool.” In the coming months we’re going to regularly add to this blog about each and every advancement – not just the ones in the A/C and cooling departments.  We’re upgrading the suspension, the brakes, the engine… heck just about everything.

The bottom line… we’re looking to make this classic a very comfortable and smart ride. We invite you to follow along and send us advice, tips, and encouragement as we take this car to at least the next level. Bear in mind though, this is not going to be a trailer queen… you’re just as likely to see this beauty thru a haze of tire smoke as you are to see it at a local car show.  Regardless, you can be assured whomever the lucky driver is that they’ll be either cool to the max, or toasty to the bone as they rocket down a Texas road.  Stayed tuned for more updates on this righteous ride!

Great to hear you are doing this project car. How about making it function properly with inside/outside (recirc/fresh) air also? That would sure be nice, and you would be the only aftermarket company to do that.
    Thanks!

We have great things involved with this build and I can tell you that we are doing things that haven’t ever been done on a classic Camaro before, most of which are involving the air conditioning. Stay tuned to see what is in store!

I think Steve has a great idea as Camaro’s always lacked that feature, just be sure to relocate the heater core hookups farther to the passenger side.Should be great.
